MOTORISED BLINDS | ELECTRIC BLINDS

Motorised Blinds | Electric Blinds

Roman Blinds with Somfy Motorisation.

We offer Roman Blinds with Somfy battery motorisation, they are extremely simple to operate with a neat, three button remote control. One press of the down button and the blind will lower all the way to the bottom and then stop automatically. Likewise, one press of the up button and the blind will return to the top and again stop automatically.

The third button on the control allows you to stop the blind in any position you want as it moves up or down. This is handy for example to control the amount of light coming in to the room to prevent glare on TV or computer screens through the day as the sun moves round, or perhaps when the sunlight reaches a particular angle and needs to be blocked for comfort.

If you have several blinds in one room, we can set them up so they all operate with one remote which is an extremely handy feature. Or you might want two remote controls perhaps, with one blind operating individually near a television for example and the others all operating together with the second control.

For wheelchair users, chain operated Roman Blinds may well be too difficult to use and motorised blinds are therefore the perfect solution. Or a blind situated high up perhaps in a stairway, or another hard position to reach, would be ideally suited to remote operation.

The Somfy tilt & lift 25 RTS motor fitted to the blind in the photo above actually sits inside the roman blind headrail and so looks no different at all to a standard Roman Blind, other than there being no operating chain needed of course.

There are two battery options; either a rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack, or using AA lithium non-rechargeable batteries. The rechargeable pack for a medium size blind operating twice a day should last approximately 9-12 months before needing charging.
The battery pack is fitted out of sight, on to the wall immediately below the headrail and so not visible behind the fabric, or just behind the blind in the recess if the blind is top fixed, again hidden behind the bind.

SOMFY is a multinational French company founded in 1969 that today is one of the largest manufacturers of motors and controllers for blinds, curtain tracks, awnings and entrance gates.
