Made to Measure Curtains and Roman Blinds in Clarke and Clarke fabric

Jo is always looking for fabrics that punch above their weight and Clarke & Clarke, one of the Sanderson Design Group brands, regularly has winners in this category. We’ve used quite a few of their fabrics recently with some really excellent results. Interlining is often the key to success here, adding that extra layer really elevates a fabric, creating a very luxurious look and feel. That can make a fabric look much more expensive than it is. The latest one we used, Clarke & Clarke Mason Spice F1322/07, is a really stunning textured plain, in seven colours, perfect for a pair of double pleat curtains for a patio door. We have also recently used Alvar Thyme F0753/98 and from the extremely good value Studio G range, Palmero Mineral F1360/03, Mappleton Blush F1310/0 and Florrie Pastel F1355/02

Clarke & Clarke was founded by Lee and Emma Clarke in 1999 and after 15 years building the Clarke & Clarke brand they launched Studio G in 2015 to tackle what was at the time the sub-£20/metre segment of the market and it proved to be a very successful move. The Sanderson Design Group bought Clarke & Clarke in 2016.

The Studio G fabrics we’ve used – Palmero, Florrie, Mappleton – are extremely good value and when interlined they are really the definition of fabrics that punch above their weight, the interlining elevates them to look like fabrics at twice the price.

The two photos show the Mason Spice fabric and the Palmero Mineral. The Mason was chosen by our client for a pair of patio door curtains in her new build home. She was looking for a plain fabric in that colour but wanted some texture and the Mason fits that bill perfectly. The end result is an extremely stylish pair of double pleat curtains fitted to a Hallis Hudson Neo pole in a spun brass finish to match beautifully. We’ve used Palmero Mineral for two clients, both for Roman Blinds and Curtains, and we also had a roller blind made in the same fabric for a kitchen window which worked very well indeed despite needing joins for the width. The photo shows the interlined curtains over bench seat cushions we made in a plain coordinating fabric from Prestigious Textiles.
